Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive after one year of regular, unprotected intercourse. Our Infertility Evaluation service is designed to provide couples with compassionate, comprehensive, and evidence-based assessment to determine the underlying causes of infertility and guide them toward the right treatment pathway. Both male and female factors can contribute to infertility. Hence, we adopt a couple-based approach in evaluation. During the first consultation, we take a detailed medical, sexual, and lifestyle history of both partners. This includes menstrual history, past illnesses or surgeries, previous pregnancies (if any), and any history of infections, thyroid issues, or hormonal imbalances. For the female partner, evaluations typically include: Hormonal testing (FSH, LH, TSH, Prolactin, AMH) Pelvic ultrasound to check ovarian reserve, uterine structure, and presence of fibroids, cysts, or PCOS Tubal patency testing, such as HSG (Hysterosalpingography) or Sonosalpingography Ovulation tracking to confirm if and when ovulation is occurring For the male partner, a semen analysis is performed to assess sperm count, motility, and morphology. If needed, advanced tests like hormone profiles, scrotal ultrasound, or genetic studies are also recommended. Our goal is to identify reversible causes and provide targeted treatment. For some couples, simple lifestyle modifications, weight management, or treatment of underlying hormonal imbalances can restore fertility.
